Our Origin
NJD (Not Just Desserts) was founded in Dubai in 2016 by Myra Raisinghani, a chocolatier with a strategist’s mind and an instinct for the way food, design and emotion come together.
Well travelled and endlessly observant, Myra treats every city, gallery, market, dining room and pastry counter as a study in colour, ritual, texture and flavour. She returns not to reproduce what she has seen, but to reinterpret, research and make an idea relevant to the person receiving it.
What began with desserts evolved into handcrafted chocolates, designer cakes, bespoke boxes, corporate gifts and seasonal collections created to add life to the occasion around them.
Meet the Founder
To Myra, creativity is only valuable when it performs. A beautiful gift must also travel well, arrive fresh, taste balanced, feel personal and justify what the customer has spent on it.
Her approach brings together art, food science, cultural observation and commercial strategy. Recipes are researched. Formats are tested. Colour, finish, shelf life, packaging and delivery are considered in context. Each collection is designed not merely to photograph well, but to hold its own at a real celebration.
